Conical thread
assembly instructions
For installation of the “NPTF” or “R” -thread of the ABC Push-In couplings, ABC swivels, and ABC Complementary an external sealing (tape or fluid) must be used. Note: unscrewing can damage the sealing.
The following table 2c shows the recommended torque values.
Table 2c
Thread | Recommended torque1,2 | Max. torque1 |
---|---|---|
1/8”-27 NPTF | 15 Nm (11,1 lbf ft) | 18 Nm (13,3 lbf ft) |
1/4”-18 NPTF | 24 Nm (17,7 lbf ft) | 28 Nm (20,7 lbf ft) |
3/8”-18 NPTF | 32 Nm (23,6 lbf ft) | 38 Nm (28,0 lbf ft) |
1/2”-14 NPTF | 36 Nm (26,6 lbf ft) | 42 Nm (31,0 lbf ft) |
R 1/8″ | 15 Nm (11,1 lbf ft) | 18 Nm (13,3 lbf ft) |
R 1/4″ | 24 Nm (17,7 lbf ft) | 28 Nm (20,7 lbf ft) |
R 3/8″ | 32 Nm (23,6 lbf ft) | 38 Nm (23,6 lbf ft) |
R 1/2″ | 36 Nm (26,6 lbf ft) | 42 Nm (31,0 lbf ft) |
R 5/8” | 43 Nm (31,7 lbf ft) | 50 Nm (36,9 lbf ft) |
- The recommended torques are based on threads without lubrication. The recommended torques applies to ports of aluminum, brass or steel. A “torque wrench” shall be used.
- If lower max torque values are specified for valves, air reservoir etc, these are valid.
